What have you checked off your Bucket List?

Graduated from All Saints Hospital School of Vocational Nursing in 1972.
Worked at All Saints Hospital. Moved to Bryan-College Station and worked at St. Joseph Hospital. Moved back to Fort Worth in 1987 and went to work at John Peter Smith Hospital. In 1991 I went into Home Health and worked for several agency's. In 2004 I organized the Lone Star Divas of the Red Hat Society. We are still going strong! We meet the third Saturday of every month.

What remains on your Bucket List?

I had Polio when I was 18 months old. I was paralyzed and had several corrected surgeries and wore leg braces until I started to school at Westcliff Elementary. All of my school years I tried to live a normal life. In 1997 I hit a brick wall. I was dignosed with Post Polio Syndrome. I had difficulty breathing, pain to my lower back and right leg. Extreme fatigue, brain fog, slow ambulation. I had to retire and have now been on O2 with Bipap Ventalation 16-18 hours per day. I use a Cane, rolling walker, and an electric scooter. I see a Pain Management Doctor. Plus a Polio doctor in Houston, and a wonderful Pulmonary Doctor in Dallas. I am in the hospital about twice a year. During 1997-2012 I organized The Fort with Area Polio survivors Support Group. We would have guest speakers and programs once a month. We had to disband because of poor attendance and many passed away.

Do you have a favorite school story?

I always enjoyed the Pep Rally's. I am still in touch with several of my friends on FB. Since I am basically home bound, I will not be able to attend our 50th Reunion. I know that y'all will have a lot of fun!

Mary Lou and i met at McLean Jr High and remained friends through graduation at Paschal. We were both a little shy back then. We would often visit each other's homes and go to either the TCU or Parkway Theater on Saturday afternoons. She was a very sweet and kind friend. May, Mary Lou Rest In Peace. With love to her Family, Marilyn Dockery Foster

I knew Karen at Paschal and also in Rainbow Girls. She was very quite, but a sweet girl. I remember her living with her Father on South I 35 at a small motel that he owned. She never mentioned her Mother. We would take her home after Rainbow Meetings. Rest In Peace dear Karen......Marilyn Dockery Foster

Betty, also known as Boo was a dear friend of mine at McLean Jr High, Rainbow Girls, and at Paschal. She even introduced me to my husband, the late Larry Jacobs. They had worked together at Sears Service Center. Betty gave me a hugh Baby Shower 49 years ago when I was pregnant with my 1st child, Benjamin. Back when we were young stay at home Mother's Betty, Pam Nelson Byrd, and Christy Sutton ((from McLean, then Tech High School) we would get together at each other's homes about once a week. It was a play date for the kids, and we would share recipes and "True Story" magazines.. My what a long time ago! Boo you will always be missed! Love you!!

Faye and I had been friends throughout High School, we were both in Rainbow Girls, and we stayed in touch after Graduation. I remember when she married Anthony Guardalabene and had her 2 precious daughters Amy and Gina. She was also blessed with 4 Grandchildren. Faye was always fun to be around. She would be making you laugh even if she was in pain. I kept in touch with her even during her final days. She had a beautiful funeral mass at St. Timothy's and is buried at Laural Land. I'm proud to say that I keep in touch with her daughters. They are just as sweet as Faye!  May you Rest In Peace dear Faye. Love to all of her family. Marilyn Dockery Foster

So very sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. I did not know until now. We had been friends since 7th grade. We even went to Church together for several years. The one across the street from her house. The last time that I saw Nancy was 20 plus years ago. Our kids went to Southwest High together, and we would visit in the grocery store often. My sincere condolences to her children and sister. ?????? Marilyn Dockery Foster
